I THINK, BECAUSE I HAVE A PARTICULAR AFFECTION AND APPRECIATION, PERHAPS, THAT THIS IS A MOUNTAIN BEAVER.
YET THE PIC IS NOT THAT CLEAR . . .
NEXT TIME, TRY TO SHAVE IT .

    Ochotona Princeps or American Pika.

Small hamster-like relative of the rabbit. Lives on rocky talus slopes, often above the treeline up to the limit of vegetation, near the tops of the Rocky Mountains.

It is also known as the “whistling hare” due to its high-pitched alarm call when diving into its burrow.

Might have inspired the well-known Pikachu.

This is a quokka. They live exclusively on Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth in Australia. I’ve been there and they’re gorgeous. There’s no cars or big buildings, only bikes and beaches and a massive salt lake and these little things hop around absolutely everywhere, including under the pinball machine in a mini arcade room. And the baby ones are that small.
