These cute looking mammals are called “elephant shrews” or “jumping shrews” and they are native from Africa. Despite of their appearance as a small rodent, they are in fact insectivorous mammals that can vary in size and color: different shades of grey and brown and can grow to be from 10 to 30 centimeters.

Amazingly enough, they have quite big teeth and believe it or not, they even own a DENTAL FORMULA! How’s that for an interesting animal? 😀 I want one so badly!

Celtic Realm - Bald Guinea Pig

I are bald… 🙁

Celtic Realm was a Baldwin, one of the 2 species of hairless guinea pig. Baldwin’s are born fully haired and gradually lose their hair completely from weaning… A Skinny Pig is the other species… They are born with only a small amount of hair, normally on their nose and feet. They are very sweet animals but unfortunately in Australia, the breed is very weak and they rarely live past a couple of months.
The following picture is the skinny pig.
